Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Tribal conclave Samvaad, one of the most sought-after event in Jamshedpur’s calendar is back.
The 11th edition of the five-day tribal conclave will kick off at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.
The conclave will begin tomorrow on Jharkhand Statehood Day commemorating the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda.
Everyone will gather to pay homage to the beat of 351 nagadas, representing 32 tribes during the inaugural function of the conclave.
As the conclave steps into the next decade, Samvaad 2024 will be marked by many first-time participants across all elements, motivated by those who have been regulars over the decade. 40 new home cooks have been mobilised through the inspiring journey of those who have been long associated with Samvaad.
There will be 19 new stalls representing artisans from newer tribes as they bring forth their unique art, traditions and culture at Gopal Maidan. 99 new tribal healers will be taking a leaf out of the journey so far and prepare a roadmap for the next decade. In the evenings, you can witness the Neigi, Hajong, Kokani, Paraja tribes usher in their first performance at Samvaad.

A total of 45 stalls at Gopal Maidan will showcase 31 tribal artforms from 117 artisans coming from 28 tribes of India.
Artworks and handicrafts from the diverse tribes of India will see its expression in everyday handmade products – from home décor to apparels.
There will be 31 stalls put up by tribal healers who will share their wisdom on tribal healing practices through demonstrations at the medicinal plant shop. 8 stalls including an experience zone would be set up with an array of tribal cuisine on display where one can taste the menu presented by the diverse tribes of India.
An interesting highlight is the Aatithya zone, where one can witness the fusion of popular food items made of medicinal plants.
Not just that, you can also place your orders from the selected ‘menu of the day’ on Zomato app, all day long, during Samvaad, from November 15 to 19.
This year, a total of 30 original works of literary, film, artistic and musical accomplishment will be shared by their creators with the world for the first time from the Samvaad 2024 platform.
In its journey so far, Samvaad has brought together 253 of the 705 Scheduled Tribes in India, unravelling inspirational stories, narratives and creating safe spaces for the expression of tribal identity through its diverse facets.
