Jharkhand News: Karim City College holds blood donation awareness programme

Jamshedpur, September 19: The Faculty of Commerce at Karim City College, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Jamshedpur, organized a Blood Donation Awareness Program aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation among students. The event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and Lions Club representatives.

The program began with a warm welcome address by the Principal of Karim City College, Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, who emphasized the importance of blood donation in saving lives. He encouraged students to take an active role in contributing to the welfare of society through voluntary blood donation.

Shashi Gadia, President of the Lions Club of Jamshedpur, highlighted the impact that blood donation can have on saving lives and fostering community well-being. She called on the youth to lead by example in this noble cause.

Dr. B.K. Singh, Vice President of the Lions Club and Finance Officer at Kolhan University, Chaibasa, expressed his gratitude to the Head of the Department of Commerce, Dr. Md. Moazzam Nazri, and Principal Dr. Reyaz for organizing the program. He stressed the essential role that blood donation plays in healthcare systems worldwide, underscoring its significance during medical emergencies.

Ashok Kumar Khandelwal, Zonal Chairperson of the Lions Club, Jamshedpur, also addressed the gathering, pointing out the ongoing demand for blood in hospitals. He urged the audience to donate regularly, ensuring that blood is always available for emergencies and routine treatments.

Call to action and interactive session

The keynote speaker, Sanjay Choudhry, General Manager of Jamshedpur Blood Bank, delivered an insightful presentation on the process and benefits of blood donation.

The program featured an engaging interactive session with active participation from students, faculty members including Dr. G. Vijaylakshmi, Dr. Syed Zahid Perwaiz, Dr. Fouzia Tabssum, Syed Sajid Perwaiz, and Lions Club members such as Mahrookh Mehta, T.S. Biswas, Stota Dasy, Katy Males, and Shiva Shankar Gadia.

Dr. Aaley Ali, Head of the Department of Geography, effectively conducted the event, ensuring smooth proceedings. Dr. Md. Moazzam Nazri, Head of the Faculty of Commerce, delivered the vote of thanks, encouraging students to embrace blood donation as a way to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
