Daltonganj, March 30: With Ramnavmi just around the corner, Palamu Superintendent of Police (SP) Reeshma Ramesan has issued a firm message—no political opportunism in the name of celebrations!

Addressing a district peace committee meeting on Saturday at Pdt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Smriti Nagar Bhavan in Daltonganj, SP Ramesan urged festival organisers to ensure that the spirit of Ramnavmi remains purely devotional and free from political agendas.

Municipal elections

“The municipal elections are just around the corner. Ramnavmi is a grand festival; some may be tempted to use it as a political platform. No – refrain from doing so. Let this be a celebration in its true spirit, without any trace of political opportunism,” she emphasised.

The SP also advised organisers to be mindful of ongoing road repairs across the district. “With road construction happening in almost every part of the district, some routes may be affected. Plan accordingly to ensure the smooth passage of the Rath Yatra,” she cautioned.

She further urged organisers to exercise patience when encountering potholes or damaged roads along the route. “Instead of frustration, navigate these stretches calmly. After all, good roads are a right for everyone, and development takes time,” she added.

The emphasis remains on ensuring that Ramnavmi is celebrated with devotion, unity, and without political distractions.
