Daltonganj, April 7: Eye treatment under Ayushman Yojna is on hold for about seven or eight months for want of a duty doctor here in the prestigious Prakash Eye Care at Rehla in Palamu district.

For an eye hospital, a duty doctor is mandated under the Ayushman Yojna. However here in Palamu, no MBBS doctor is ready to serve as a duty doctor in the eye care centre.
Incidentally, Palamu district has two medical colleges. One is MMCH Daltonganj which is a state-run medical college and hospital. The other is a private medical college of the former health minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi.

District Programme Coordinator of the Ayushman Yojna Dr Premchand said the Prakash Eye Care is a panelled one under the Clinical Establishment Act where its Ayushman services are on hold for want of the duty doctor.

Once this eye care centre procures a duty doctor, its embargo on providing treatment under the Ayushman Yojna will be lifted.
This eye care has a high flow of patients and has won the trust and confidence of the people here in the whole of the Palamu division.
