THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Jamshedpur, August 2: Loyola School, celebrated for its dedication to holistic education and personal growth, extended its ethos beyond the classroom today with an impactful outreach programme involving around 400 plus-two students. This initiative aimed to instil a deeper sense of community and altruism among the students.

Std 11 students connect with underprivileged

In a gesture reflecting the school’s commitment to empathy and social responsibility, Standard 11 students visited various institutions including Old Age Homes, the School of Hope for mentally challenged children, Vivekanand Students’ Home, Nirmal Hriday Missionaries of Charity, and Bal Vihar. These visits were crafted to connect with and uplift the less fortunate, providing moments of joy and companionship to those in need.

They also hosted painting and drawing competitions, encouraging creativity and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Additionally, students distributed stationery, sports equipment, and goodies, while the host schools generously shared their meals with the visiting students.

The day left Loyola’s students with a heightened appreciation for their own privileges and a strengthened resolve to support those in need.

The outreach programme highlighted a fundamental lesson: education is a privilege that should be cherished, and it is our responsibility to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. Echoing Mahatma Gandhi’s words, “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.”
