Dhanbad, March 7: A major reshuffle has been made in the administration of three medical colleges in Jharkhand—SNMMCH Dhanbad, MGMMCH Jamshedpur, and MMCH Palamu—with new appointments for the positions of principal and superintendent.

New Principal Appointed at SNMMCH Dhanbad

According to a notification issued by Lalit Mohan Shukla, Joint Secretary of the state government, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Chourasia, formerly the superintendent of SNMMCH Dhanbad, has been appointed as the principal of the college.

The position of principal at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) had been vacant since the retirement of Dr. K.K. Lal on January 31.

New Superintendent at SNMMCH Dhanbad

Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Gindauria, Head of the Surgery Department at SNMMCH, has been appointed as the new superintendent, replacing Dr. S.K. Chourasia.

Administrative Changes at MGMMCH Jamshedpur

At Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur, Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Mandhan, Head of the Pathology Department, has been appointed as the new superintendent. He replaces Dr. Shikha Rani, who has held the position since September 2023.

New Superintendent at MMCH Palamu

Meanwhile, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Singh, Head of the Eye Department at MGMMCH, has been transferred and appointed as the superintendent of Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) Palamu. He replaces Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, who had been serving as superintendent since September 2024.

Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Transferred to SNMMCH Dhanbad

In another transfer, Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Kumar has been moved from MMCH Palamu to SNMMCH Dhanbad, where he will now serve as the Head of the Eye Department.
