Dhanbad, April 20:A youth, identified as Sujit Kevat, was seriously injured in a clash between two groups allegedly over supremacy on coal turf which occurred at Ekra Pool under Loyabad police station on Tuesday afternoon.
Injured Sujit Kevat was admitted at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in critical condition. He has received injuries on his chest, hands and legs.
Kevat told media persons that supporters of MLA Dhulu Mahto (BJP Dhanbad candidate) attacked him with iron rods, sticks and bricks when he was going along with other labourers.
Sujit Kevat is said to be a supporter of BJP state executive committee member Ragni Singh (Wife of three times Jharia MLA Sanjiv Singh). The supporters of both the BJP leaders clash often for supremacy on coal turf.

However, Circle Inspector AL Thakur told media persons at SNMMCH that it was a clash between two groups held under Kenduadih police station. The police are investigating the incident.
“FIR would be lodged after taking the statement of injured Sujit Kevat”, he said.
Eye witnesses said dozens of people sustained injuries in the clash and were treated at a private hospital. Since Kevat got serious injuries, police admitted him to the medical college hospital.
BJP leaders MLA Dhulu Mahto and Ragni Singh both did not receive calls to take their comments.
