Jamshedpur, Sept 12: Police have made significant progress in the sensational Rs 30 lakh loot case that took place on September 4 near Bistupur Gurudwara.

The main accused, Rakesh Kumar alias Pakodi, has been arrested and brought to the city on transit remand. Acting on his information, police recovered Rs 5 lakh from Sudhir Behera’s residence in Noamundi.

So far, a total of Rs 10 lakh, an Innova car, and weapons used in the crime have been seized.

According to police, the robbery was the outcome of a well-planned conspiracy.

The mastermind has been identified as Kamlesh Dubey, a resident of Ranikudar, Kadma, and an employee of a courier company.

He had been observing businessman Saket Agrawal, who frequently carried cash to the bank, and during this time, plotted the robbery.

Besides Pakodi, the arrested include Kamlesh Dubey, Ganesh Kumbhakar of Kapali, and four others. Police are also on the lookout for Adityapur resident Karan Kumar and two of his associates.

Investigations suggest that 7–8 youths were directly or indirectly involved in the crime.

To avoid detection, mastermind Dubey had removed the number plate of the Innova car used in the loot.
