Daltonganj, Feb 2: Students of MK DAV Public School, Daltonganj, displayed their scientific curiosity and creativity at the science exhibition held today as part of the annual function, Spandan 2025.
They presented a variety of innovations and experiments based on themes such as nature, the environment, human development, and growth. Their enthusiasm and ingenuity made them look like future entrepreneurs in the making.
Annual Report Highlights School Achievements
Dr. G. N. Khan, the Principal and Assistant Regional Officer of Jharkhand Zone 1, presented the school’s annual report. The report was lengthy and delivered in English, making it difficult for many parents to fully grasp the school’s achievements for the academic year 2023-24.

Overwhelming Crowd and Seating Issues
The event witnessed an enormous turnout, resulting in a packed venue. Many parents were forced to stand or sit on railings due to a shortage of chairs. The number of visitors far exceeded the available seating.

Some parents, speaking to The Jharkhand Story correspondent, expressed their concerns. One of them said, “We would have enjoyed it even more if we had proper seating. But we love this program—it’s so beautiful.”
Equal Hospitality for All Guests
Guests were served bottled water, fruit salad, cold drinks, and light refreshment packets. The school management ensured fairness by providing the same refreshment pack to everyone, avoiding any categorization.
Chief Guest Attends Briefly, Shares Inspiring Anecdote
Sources revealed that the school had invited Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan, Superintendent of Police Reeshma Ramesan, and several other officials. However, only Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sulochana Meena attended the event.
In her six-minute speech, delivered in a mix of fluent English and flawless Hindi, she introduced herself as someone who hails from the region of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.
She also shared a personal anecdote from her college days about how she once lost all her certificates and testimonials, which left her shocked.
During her speech, Meena urged parents not to put undue stress on their children, as excessive pressure can stifle their growth. She kept her message brief but impactful, saying exactly what she intended to convey before taking her leave.
Security and Traffic Management
Police personnel were deployed to manage traffic and parking during the event. The function also saw the attendance of many elderly family members, including grandmothers, who came to watch their grandchildren perform.
