Jharkhand News: Mother, son arrested for supplying illegal arms in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, March 30: Police arrested a woman and her son with illegal arms and ammunition in Bhuyan Dhowra under Nirsa police station, around 35 km away from here.

Dhanbad senior superintendent of police (SSP) HP Janardhan told media persons that, on getting a tip, a team under Nirsa SDPO Rajat Manik Bakhla conducted a raid late Friday night in Bhuyan Dhowra East India Colony and recovered illegal arms from a mother and son.

The police recovered two 7.65 MM country-made pistols, two magazines of 7.65 MM pistols, and 14 live cartridges.

The SSP said the mother and son were identified as Usha Devi (50) and Krishna Yadav (25). Both were engaged in supplying ( selling) illegal arms in the Nirsa area of Dhanbad after smuggling them from Munger of Bihar for a long time.

Nirsa police station in-charge  Manjit Singh, Govindpur police station in-charge Ravi Kant Prasad and Galfarbari OP in-charge Nitish  Kumar were also members of the special team.
