Jamshedpur, June 30: In a progressive move to strengthen interdisciplinary learning and academic exchange, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a Deemed to be University on behalf of its constituent unit- Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) today.

This partnership is set to foster student enrichment across disciplines, community outreach activities, faculty exchange and cooperation in research.

The MoU was formalized in the presence of key dignitaries from both institutions- the Registrar- Dr Rajendra Kumar Jayaswal, the Controller of Examination- Dr Rama Subramaian, and the head of department of Botany- Dr Salomi Kujur from JWU and Dean In-Charge, Director-academics, administration and quality, Associate Dean- Preclinical, Paraclinical and student affairs, Head-Department of Community Medicine, along with other faculties from Department of Community Medicine, Officer on special duty, Head HR, Head Security and Head General Administration from MTMC marking a new chapter of collaborative excellence in higher education in Jharkhand.

With this alliance, MTMC and JWU aim to leverage their unique strengths to create impactful academic and community-based initiatives.
The program began with a brief overview of the objectives and scope of the Memorandum of Understanding, setting the context for this strategic partnership. This was followed by the formal signing of the MoU by the dignitaries representing both institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, the leadership of both institutions emphasized the importance of inter-institutional synergy in driving educational innovation and community impact, where such partnerships can make a tangible difference.

Dean In-Charge of the MTMC said this collaboration will benefit both institutions for the academic excellence of students as well as research innovations by faculty. Dr Rajendra Kumar Jayaswal highlighted the scope of leveraging strengths of both institutions while Dr Rama Subramanian shared the various academic engagement and public health initiatives planned under this MoU.
This collaboration reflects the shared vision of both MTMC and JWU to nurture holistic education, encourage interdisciplinary research, and prepare future-ready graduates who can contribute meaningfully to society.
The event concluded with exchange of the signed MoU documents and a symbolic tree plantation drive, held as a tribute to the beginning of a new chapter of cooperation, growth, and shared responsibility.
