Dhanbad, May 8: The mutilated body of an unidentified youth was discovered this morning in a bush near the water tank adjacent to the PG block building of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), under the jurisdiction of the Saraidhela police station.

According to Officer-in-Charge of Saraidhela police station, Nutan Modi, the body was found hanging from a tree within the bushy area. Police have initiated efforts to ascertain the identity of the deceased.

Local residents first spotted the body and immediately informed the police. Upon arrival, police found the body in a decomposed state. Both eyes appeared to have been scratched, and the clothes were torn, suggesting possible foul play.

Preliminary observations indicate that the youth may have died two to three days ago. Officer Modi said that investigations are underway to determine whether it is a case of suicide or murder.
