Daltonganj, May 29: IPS officer Naushad Alam on Thursday joined as DIG of Police, Palamu range.
He has replaced Y S Ramesh, who has been transferred in the same capacity to the SCRB (State Crime Record Bureau), Ranchi. Palamu SP Reeshma Ramesan welcomed Naushad Alam.

Palamu police range has three districts, namely Garhwa, Latehar and Palamu.
Garhwa is comparatively calm so far as extremism is concerned, while sporadic Naxal violence happens in Latehar and Palamu districts, which keeps top cops of all three districts, along with the DIG and IG of police on a live wire.
