Daltonganj, March 28: Divisional Commissioner Bal Kishun Munda, who is the acting vice chancellor of the Nilamber Pitamber University and registrar, Dr Mritunjay Kumar, made a short trip to the model degree college at Kurka, which is within the Chainpur police station limits, late Wednesday evening.

The duo took a tour of the campus and the building. It has been more than two years since this model degree college was ready to be handed over to the university, but the handover is hanging in the balance because of its boundary wall.

The Medininagar forest division has disallowed the construction of the boundary wall, citing that the land on which it is to be built is owned by the forest department. Hence, the NoC for the boundary wall is not permitted.

28 sanctioned posts

The college has 28 sanctioned posts, including principals, teachers and non-teaching personnel.

The acting registrar added, “We are too keen to start our academic session from this June itself. Let’s see how things move on.”

Under the state government’s directive, the district administration has provided 10 acres of land for this college.
