Daltonganj, Feb 12: There is an undercover plan to take out the symbolic funeral procession of the two officers of the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) by some disgruntled students peeved with the university having no vice-chancellor and pro-vice-chancellor, said sources.

Demand to Replace One Exam with Another

The symbolic funeral procession is to pressure the university to drop the fourth and final semester exam of the B.Ed course and in place of it hold the post-graduate third-semester exam.

Sources said the disgruntled students are being misled and misinformed by some of the elements inside the university just to derail the exams in the pipeline.

Again it’s a peculiar demand to sideline one exam and in its place another exam to be taken. The stock in trade demand is always to extend the date of the exam but never to shelve down one exam and hold another one in its place.

Never in the history of any university has such a demand ever been made, said sources.

University’s Response to the Situation

NPU controller of examinations Dr Ravi Shankar said, “I have got to know that one of the symbolic funeral processions is of the controller of university examinations. It’s a pity on those who are spearheading it.”

The final and fourth-semester exam of the B Ed is slated to start this February 19. It’s just of two days. 12 B.Ed colleges will be taking part in it.

The post-graduate third-semester exam is very much in the pipeline. The wait is for the return of the evaluated answer books of the second semester.

Sources said following the non-posting of the vice-chancellor and pro-vice-chancellor in the Nilamber Pitamber University, there is an outbreak of anarchy. Things are set to worsen further.
