Daltonganj, Dec 14: Eight newborn kids undergoing critical care in the SNCU ward 1 of the MMCH Daltonganj were safely rescued following a high-flow Nasal C-Pipe Machine catching fire with a loud sound last night.
Vigilant staff promptly rescue newborns
There is no loss of life. It’s all because of the vigilant nurses on duty here in the SNCU MMCH who without getting into any panic saved and rescued the kids.
The rescued kids are in the full care of the post-natal ward of MMCH, said the noted child specialist Dr Gaurav Vishal.
The incident of fire was very well handled by the GNM Mamta Trishul, nurse Dayani Orya and ward boy Ravi.
The rescue and rehabilitation of the eight kids were swift and meticulous.

Safety audits ordered
The MMCH Daltonganj is yet to have electricity and fire audits. Principal Secretary of the state Health Department Ajoy Kumar Singh has directed the health officials here to get electricity and fire audits at the earliest.
Defective machines raise concerns
The high-flow Nasal C-Pipe machines, three in numbers were bought six or seven months ago only in which one machine is a non-starter, the other got burnt last night and so there is one machine left.
The concerned company that had supplied these machines has been noticed to rush its experts to find out the flaws in the machines and also to set it right before any delay under orders of the DC Shashi Ranjan.
Civil Surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar and paediatrician Dr Gaurav Vishal had a great word of appreciation for the brave act of Mamta, Dayani and Ravi.
