Daltonganj, May 10: The Palamu administration conducted a very smart and fair postal ballot voting.

Home voting for 85-plus

It first rolled out home voting teams on vehicles which conducted postal ballot voting for voters aged 85 years and above and also for those voters having disability of 40 per cent.

It then opened a facilitation centre for voters on election duty and for voters of essential services.

The nodal officer of the postal ballot cell, Anurag Kumar Tiwary, who is SDM Sadar, and his team made a flawless arrangement for the postal ballot voting.

Postal ballot votes

There has been so far cast of 4,510 postal ballot votes out of 7,527 in the four assembly constituencies here in Palamu till May 9, said the nodal officer.

It is further likely to improve as today and tomorrow’s tally of it will be compiled on Saturday.

The percentage of the postal ballot voting is 59.91 till May 9, added Anurag Kumar Tiwary.

The Hussainabad assembly constituency did quite well as by May 9 it had 1100 postal ballot voting out of 1700 targeted postal ballot voting.

The Bishrampur assembly constituency did 700 postal ballots voting out of 1300 postal ballots by May 9.
