THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, May 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today raked up the corruption issue strongly and said that a cash haul of around Rs 400 crore linked to Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu (Rs 350 crore) and Minister Alamgir Alam (Rs 35.23 crore from his PS’ premises) belonged to tribals and the BJP will return every penny.

Amit Shah seeks votes for Arjun Munda

Seeking votes for Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda in Khunti, some 40 km from here, Shah said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress are neck-deep in corruption.

Munda locked in a battle with Congress candidate Kalicharan Munda is seeking a second term from Khunti, the birthplace of tribal icon Birsa Munda.

List of scams

He said, “The JMM-led alliance indulged in Rs 300-crore land scam, Rs 1,000-crore mining scam, Rs 1,000-crore MNREGA scam, Rs 40-crore liquor scam. We will not allow the JMM-led alliance to digest poor people’s money.”

Vote-bank politics

The union minister said that the JMM and the Congress are indulging in ‘vote-bank politics’ by allowing infiltration from Bangladesh. These infiltrators are abusing tribal girls and looting tribal land and the JMM-led government is a mute spectator for votes.

Reminding the voters of PM Modi’s achievements of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and removal of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, Shah accused the Congress of “raising question marks” on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and said that every inch of PoK belonged to India and no force can snatch it away from India.

He said, “Mani Shankar Aiyar is telling us to respect Pakistan as it possesses an atomic bomb. A few days ago, INDIA alliance leader Farooq Abdullah said not to talk about PoK as Pakistan has an atomic bomb. I want to tell the Congress and INDIA alliance that PoK belongs to India and no force can snatch it.”

Shah said the Congress failed to make any tribal President when it was in power. “On the other hand, the BJP picked up Draupadi Murmu as President,” he pointed out.

Congress opposed Jharkhand

He said the JMM is running the government with the Congress which was opposed to the creation of Jharkhand as a separate state. But when the BJP government came into power, Atalji created it in 2000. Now Modiji is grooming Jharkhand,” he maintained.
