Daltonganj, August 1: Palamu administration is going to restart a cultural bonanza on the eve of Independence Day here in the town’s Pdt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Smriti Bhavan on August 14.

Administrative sources said the cultural gala programmes ahead of the Independence Day and the Republic Day were shelved after the Covid pandemic.

According to the District Education Officer, Saurav Prakash, “Our DC Sameera S has directed us to hold a grand cultural show on the eve of the Independence Day at the Pdt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Smriti Bhavan in Daltonganj.”

Schools Invited to Participate, Screening To Ensures Quality

Saurav Prakash said, “We have passed on this information to all the government schools and private schools to prepare troupes of the artists drawn from their classes.”

He said we would appreciate it if private schools show enthusiasm for participation in it.

It’s guessed there may be a participation of around 10 school teams which will be shortlisted after due screening of them by the screening committee to assess the artistic and aesthetic sense and sensibility of nationalism and patriotism, and good moral conduct.

The screening committee will have Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sulochana Meena, IAS on probation Himanshu Lal and District Education Officer Saurav Prakash.

Saurav Prakash further said, “The screening committee will not allow any below-standard song and dance. The text of the song, its recitation and dance to the tune of the song all have to be most appropriate and decent.”

Performances, Arrangements, and Felicitations

The District Education Officer reiterated there would be no room for any frivolity and triviality either in the diction and vocabulary of the song or in the body language or sign in the dancing.

Each of the troupes will have a maximum of 4 to 5 minutes to perform. There will be adequate arrangements for music, light and other glitterati as it will be a youthful and joyful evening before Independence Day, reminded Saurav Prakash.

On Independence Day, district toppers of the Matriculation and toppers of the three faculties, Arts, Science and Commerce in the Plus 2/ Intermediate will be felicitated.
