Dhanbad, Aug 22: Dhanbad police recovered five stolen motorcycles and arrested three members of a bike-lifting gang from Kalitand under Tisra police station limits.
City Superintendent of Police (SP) Witvik Srivastava said that acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Inspector Sumant Kumar conducted a raid at the Kalitand football ground on Thursday evening.

Three persons were caught along with two stolen motorcycles, while two of their associates managed to escape. Sindri SDPO Ashutosh Satyam was also present during the operation.

Following the interrogation of the arrested accused, police recovered three more motorcycles from different parts of the district.
The arrested have been identified as Karku Bhuyan (24) and Sonu Bhuyan (20), both residents of Tisra, and Arvind Kumar of Baliapur. The City SP said all three are history-sheeters with cases registered against them in multiple police stations across the district.

Raids are underway at various locations to nab their absconding accomplices. The police team also included Sub-Inspector Ram Gulam Mahto and constables Harshikesh Kumar and Nilkamal Mahto.
