Ranchi, August 13: Police have uncovered a major gambling racket operating inside the city’s prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel.
In a late-night raid on Tuesday, 10 people were arrested and taken to Chutia police station for questioning. Authorities said all accused will be sent to jail after interrogation.

According to reports, DIG-cum-SSP Chandan Sinha received a tip-off that a large gambling syndicate had booked a hotel room to carry out illegal activities.

Acting on this information, a special team was formed under the SSP’s supervision, and raids were conducted in the jurisdictions of Chutia, Kotwali, Lalpur, and Daily Market police stations.
When the police team entered the room at Radisson Blu Hotel, they found gambling activities in full swing. On spotting the police, the gamblers tried to flee, but were surrounded and caught.

A large amount of cash, several decks of playing cards, and other materials were recovered from the spot.
The revelation of such open gambling operations in a five-star hotel has raised questions about the effectiveness of its security arrangements.
