Ranchi, June 22: The laparoscopic surgery department of Ranchi Sadar Hospital added another feather to its cap on Saturday by performing two hernia surgeries on a female patient together. Both the hernias were away from each other.
35-year-old Jamshedpur patient Kanchan Dwivedi had been suffering from abdominal pain and swelling problems for a long time. In the diagnostic test, incisional hernia and umbilical hernia were detected.
Incisional hernia occurred after a caesarean operation in which some part of the intestine attached to it was causing pain to the patient.

Charges of corporate hospitals in Jharkhand were beyond the reach of the patient while CMC Vellore dished up a budget of Rs 3 lakh. Finally, she reached Sadar Hospital Ranchi where the team of laparoscopic surgery department under surgeon Dr Ajit Kumar and his team successfully conducted the operation free of cost under the Ayushman Yojna.
Besides Dr Ajit Kumar, aesthetic Dr Dipak, OT assistant Sandip, Nandani, Shashi and Niraj were the members of the team that successfully conducted the surgery.
Dr Ajit Kumar said the management of Sadar Hospital helped in conducting the operation successfully.
