Daltonganj, July 17: There would be a recruitment committee meeting in the first week of August in Daltonganj regarding fourth-grade personnel recruitment.

Giving this information, the Nodal Officer of the fourth-grade employment, M Jawed Hussain, who is the DDC here, said, “It’s a fluid situation right now. The state government has postponed the recruitment process seeking time to frame or formulate rules, regulations and conditions.”

He said, “We are waiting for communications from the state government. I am in no position to hazard any guess.”

Extra Rs 5 in Postal Orders Will Not Go Unnoticed

Reminded that a huge number of applicants have submitted Indian postal order worth rupees 130 instead of 125 rupees as sought for in the advertisement for this post for the simple reason that post offices here in Palamu had no Indian postal orders of the value of 5 rupees then, to which the Nodal Officer said, “I understand applicants have deposited 5 rupee high value Indian postal order. I assure you those who will be participating in the recruitment will have ‘toffees’ of extra Rs 5 that they had so spent in Indian postal order.”

He said more to take off the tension of the recruitment that must be raging in the minds of the thousands of applicants.

Jawed known for his prosaic humour, repeated, “This extra Rs 5 will be definitely counted. So do not worry about it.”

No Refunds for Now; Applicants Urged to Stay Patient

Again asked if the bank demand drafts or Indian postal orders would be sent back to the applicants following the postponement of the fourth-grade employment, the Nodal Officer asked everyone not to be any impatient and see what comes in from the government reminding that bank demand drafts and Indian postal orders have sufficient shelf life of 3 months and 6 months respectively before any move of revalidating them. So why crying for these two at this moment?”

“I tell you, none of the huge 35,000 plus applicants have so far seen me or my officers or given us any written request for the return of the financial articles, namely bank demand drafts and Indian postal orders. They are cool and calm, waiting for things to take shape in this matter,” reiterated Jawed, known by his first name.

Officials Reflect on Application Volume, Urge Patience

The Jharkhand Story correspondent, per chance, met another senior member of the team, a Deputy Collector Rashmi Ranjan, in the corridor to the chamber of the DC Sameera S who when queried said, “It was our tremendous team effort to have such a huge pile of applications. Let’s see what comes out of it.”

This correspondent then dropped in to the office of the Additional Collector Kundan Kumar who had played a big role in the wording of the advertisement for this fourth-grade employment who too said, “It’s time to wait and watch when it is so postponed now”.
