Dr. Hansda was appointed Principal in 2024 following the state government’s seniority-based appointment policy as directed by the Jharkhand High Court.
- Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Mandhana, MGMMCH, in April 2026
- Dr. SK Singh, Principal of Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, Hazaribagh, and Director-in-Chief of the Health Department, in May 2026

Impact on Medical Education System
The mass retirement of these senior professors is likely to exacerbate the challenges faced by Jharkhand’s medical colleges, which are already grappling with faculty shortages. Replacing such experienced educators and administrators will require urgent government attention to prevent disruptions in medical education and healthcare services.
