Ranchi, Oct 22: Authorities, senior faculty members, senior residents, junior doctors, and students of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the tragic death of postgraduate (PG) second-year student Dr Akash Bhengra.
At the condolence meeting convened by the Junior Doctors Association (JDA) at Rimsonium Hall, the entire RIMS family paid rich tributes to Dr Bhengra and said that they couldn’t imagine the shock family members and friends were facing his tragic death.
Dr Akash Bhengra, a 2nd year PG student of the orthopaedics department, was seriously injured near hostel-4 in the late evening of Sunday and died during treatment in the hospital.

At the condolence meeting, RIMS Superintendent Hirendra Birua, Dean Academic Dr Shashi Bala Singh, Dean Students Welfare Dr Shiv Priya, HoD orthopaedics Dr Govind Gupta, unit in-charge Dr Vinay Prabhat, HoD anaesthesia Dr Laghu Lakra and other senior faculty members paid tributes.
JDA office bearers while paying tributes said that they would always keep Dr Bhengra in memory and will extend all possible help to his family in this tragic situation.
JDA president Dr Ankit Kumar, executive president Dr Abhishek Laguri, vice-president Dr Abhishek Hansda, Dr Jaideep, Dr Amit Kumar, Dr Archna Kumari, Dr Kumari Kirti, Ansu Soni secretary Dr Om Prakash, Dr Ranvijay, Dr Praveen, Dr G Shukla, Dr Ujala, Joint secretaries Dr Ranjeet Kumar, Dr Indradeo Kisku, Dr Akash Rohit Kujur, Dr Prem Nag, Dr Ravi Gond expressed deep condolence at the meeting.
Junior Doctors Network (JDN) state secretary Dr Raghvendra Rathore also paid rich tributes to Dr Bhengra and said that the state as well as the country lost a promising talented doctor from his tragic death.
