Ranchi, Dec 14: The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated online on Saturday by Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad of Jharkhand High Court and Executive Chairman, Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA), Ranchi, from JHALSA, Ranchi.
Following this, Justice Prasad visited the District Court, Ranchi, as the chief guest for the National Lok Adalat program, where he emphasized the importance of resolving as many cases as possible through Lok Adalat. Member Secretary of JHALSA, Kumari Ranjana Asthana also attended the event.
In today’s Lok Adalat, a compensation amount of ₹1,56,77,881 was distributed among 19 victims.

For the successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat, 40 benches were constituted for judicial officers and 20 benches for executive officers.
A total of 2,28,311 cases were disposed of in the National Lok Adalat held today, with a settlement amount of ₹1,31,77,27,225.73 crore, including both pre-litigation and litigation cases.

Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad described the Lok Adalat as a means of providing speedy and accessible justice. He also inaugurated the Free Mega Health Check-up Camp set up at the District Court, Ranchi, and the SBI ATM installed in the court premises by cutting the ribbon.
During the event, he distributed checks to the beneficiaries in the Lok Adalat. He personally distributed checks worth ₹1,12,82,881 among the beneficiaries, and other guests also distributed checks on the occasion of the National Lok Adalat. Justice Prasad also inspected all the benches that had been set up.
The event was attended by Judicial Commissioner Diwakar Pandey, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, Principal Judicial Commissioner of the Family Court S. S. Fatemi, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi Chandan Kumar Sinha, Additional Judicial Commissioner of the Family Court Sanjeeta Srivastava, along with other judicial officers, judicial officers from the District Court, Ranchi, Devesh Mittal, Zonal Head of SBI Ranchi, and officials from other banks. Sanjay Kumar Vidrohi, Secretary of the Ranchi District Bar Association, was also present with other esteemed lawyers.
