Ranchi, October 2: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marked its centenary year with Vijayadashami celebrations and processions across Ranchi, drawing large participation from swayamsevaks, intellectuals, and community members. At the heart of the programmes was a call for “Panch Parivartan”—five key transformations in family, society, education, economy, and culture—set forth as guiding resolutions for India’s future.

Celebrations Across Ranchi

From Tipu Dana Basti and Basargarh to Kapil Dev Maidan, Bhabhagar Nagar, and Shivaji Nagar, the day was marked by vibrant processions, disciplined marches, and intellectual sessions. Despite heavy rain, volunteers completed a five-kilometre march from Kamde Ashram via the Ranchi–Daltonganj road to Pandra Krishi Bazar and back, cheered on by residents who showered flowers and raised patriotic slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

At various venues, including the OCC Puja Committee premises and community centres in Tiril Basti and Adarsh Nagar, volunteers gathered for thought-provoking addresses and cultural presentations. A strong spirit of service, organisation, and discipline was evident throughout the day’s programs.

Five Transformations for the Nation

Speakers at the events repeatedly emphasised the RSS’s vision of five transformations, presenting them as the need of the hour.

Family: Strengthening values and nurturing harmony within households.

Society: Building unity and mutual respect across communities.

Education: Infusing Indian values and cultural pride into the education system.

Economy: Promoting self-reliance and sustainable development.

Culture: Preserving and promoting India’s civilisational heritage.

“Through these transformations, the Sangh seeks to deepen its sense of oneness with society in the coming 15–20 years,” said Praful Akant, Regional Secretary of the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, at the Kapil Dev Maidan event.

A Century of Service and Organisation

Speakers across the city reflected on the Sangh’s 100-year journey, describing it as one of sacrifice, dedication, and cultural resurgence. “The RSS is not merely an organisation, but a vibrant flow of service and values that has created an environment of intimacy and harmony,” said Vishal, addressing swayamsevaks at the OCC Puja Committee premises.

Others highlighted how the Sangh’s century-long mission has shaped national life through service and social participation. “This centenary year is not only the story of an organisation, but the saga of social values and cultural unity,” remarked Jitendra Bhadani, presiding over one of the celebrations.

Active Participation and Community Spirit

In settlements including Bhabhagar Nagar, Tiril Basti, and Adarsh Nagar, intellectual sessions were held where speakers such as Rajiv Kamal Bittu, Snigdh Kumar Ranjan, Vijay Raj, Akshay, and Anand Dubey urged volunteers to carry forward the spirit of service and social engagement. State Environment Coordinator Sachchidanandan Mishra, speaking in Tiril Basti, also linked the Panch Parivartan to sustainable living and environmental balance.

Across Ranchi, hundreds of volunteers—many in full uniform—joined the processions and intellectual gatherings, alongside citizens who welcomed them with warmth and enthusiasm.

Looking Ahead

As the RSS enters its second century, its leadership reiterated that the organisation’s focus will remain on deepening its role in nation-building. With its resolve for five transformations, the Sangh envisions creating a stronger, self-reliant, and culturally rooted India in the decades to come.
