Saryu Roy weighed with laddoos in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 27: The newly elected JD(U) legislator from Jamshedpur West assembly constituency, Saryu Roy, was accorded a grand felicitation at Mango in Jamshedpur today.

During the felicitation function, his supporters who were present in large numbers, weighed him with laddoos.

The felicitation function was organised near the Trayambakeshwar Mahadev Temple, where the newly elected MLA worshipped Lord Hanuman.

Saryu Roy defeated Banna Gupta by 7,863 votes

An upbeat Roy while addressing the felicitation function expressed his gratitude to the people of his constituency for electing him.

He said, “I am grateful to all those who made me victorious in the election and gave me the opportunity to serve. My priority will be to complete those incomplete development projects which could not be completed earlier.”

Dozens of supporters including Mastan Singh, Pappu Singh, Neeraj Singh, Rajesh Srivastava and Monu Pandey, who were instrumental in making the function a grand success, were present.

Saryu Roy joined JD(U) just before the Jharkhand assembly polls.

He defeated Congress’ Banna Gupta by a margin of 7,863 votes in the Jamshedpur West Assembly seat. Saryu Roy got 1,03,631 votes while  Banna Gupta got 95,768 votes.
