Jharkhand News: Schools, colleges closed in Jamshedpur for PM Modi’s visit

Jamshedpur, Sept 13: Schools and colleges in steel city will remain closed for four days between Friday (Sept 13) and Monday (Sept 16) in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.

The Prime Minister will be in Jamshedpur on September 15 to flag off six Vande Bharat Express trains from Tatanagar railway station.

During his nearly three-hour stay, the Prime Minister would also participate in a roadshow in Bistupur and address a rally at the Gopal Maidan.

Preparations are in full swing in view of the Prime Minister’s visit.

A large number of deployment of police and other para-military forces would be made as a part of security for the Prime Minister’s visit.

District administrative officials said schools and colleges will remain closed as the campuses would be used for keeping police and para-military forces.

Over 25 schools including Rajendra Vidyalaya, Dayanand Public School, Kerala Samajam Model School, Sakchi High School and DAV Public School will remain closed.

Some of the colleges in Sakchi and Bistupur including Karim City, Jamshedpur Co-operative College and Graduate School College for Women will also remain closed for four days from today.

Apart from the closure of schools and colleges, ‘No Entry’ restrictions would be imposed in the steel city from 6 am to 11 pm on Sunday.

Similar No Entry regulations would also be in force on Monday (Sept 16) where in restrictions would be imposed on entry and exit of heavy vehicles like trucks, dumpers and trailers.
