Jharkhand News: SNMMCH Dhanbad felicitates HoDs

Dhanbad, Nov 26: Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Principal Dr KK Lal today felicitated Prof. (Dr) DP Bhushan, Head of Orthopaedics, and Prof. (Dr) Makradhwaj, Head of Anatomy, for successfully conducting a seminar on the cadaveric course at the institution.

On November 24, SNMMCH hosted its first-ever seminar on a cadaveric course, organised under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) DP Bhushan, chairman of Scapula Society of India.

The seminar, which was part of a nationwide initiative, was conducted simultaneously at 22 locations, including seven medical colleges across the country.

The event attracted junior and senior doctors from various institutions, including Mission Hospital Durgapur (Bengal), Medical College Burdwan, BGH Bokaro, and AIIMS Deoghar. The seminar, conducted in collaboration with OA International of Switzerland, was a significant step forward in advancing medical education and practical knowledge.

Felicitating the pioneers

Dr KK Lal, Principal of SNMMCH, while felicitating Prof (Dr) DP Bhushan and Dr Makradhwaj expressed immense pride in the institution for successfully organizing the first-ever cadaveric seminar.

“Credit goes to Dr Bhushan, chairman of the Scapula Society of India, who conducted the dissection of posterior superior approaches to scapula and glenoid (ball and socket joint),” said Dr Lal.

Prof. (Dr.) Makradhwaj, who is set to retire on November 30, was also felicitated for his role in organising the event and providing infrastructure support in the department.

During the felicitation ceremony, Dr Lal, along with other Heads of Departments including Dr. UK Ojha, Dr. SK Verma, and Dr. Avinash Kumar, extended their congratulations. Dr. BP Sinha, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr Rahul Chandan, Dr Yash Singh, and Dr Anil Kumar also made significant contributions to the seminar’s success.

Recognition from IMA and medical community

IMA Dhanbad chapter secretary Dr. Rakesh Inder Singh, president Dr. BN Gupta, former HoD Dr. Kailash Prasad, IMA state president Dr. AK Singh, and other doctors from Dhanbad’s corporate hospitals congratulated Prof. (Dr.) Bhushan for the successful seminar.

Dr. Rakeshinder Singh stated that this course would prove to be a milestone in patient operations, advancing surgical practices in the region.
