Jamshedpur, April 19: A special fire safety awareness program was held today on the premises of Ghatshila-based Sona Devi University as part of the nationwide observance of “Fire Service Week,” which runs from April 14 to 20.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and reduce fire-related incidents across the country. Organized under the guidance of the Fire and Emergency Services Department, the event was dedicated to educating the public on fire prevention and safety measures.

The program saw the presence of the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and a large number of students from the university.

Highlighting the importance of the occasion, Ghatsila Fire Officer Ramashish Ram addressed the gathering and emphasized that “fire safety is the shield that saves lives.” He urged everyone to remain vigilant and informed about fire hazards and safety protocols.
Joining him were Dhananjay Rajwar and Sandeep Mukesh Topno, who also contributed to the awareness efforts by sharing practical demonstrations and safety tips.

The event concluded with interactive sessions and demonstrations, encouraging active participation from students and staff, thereby reinforcing the message that preparedness and awareness are key to minimizing fire-related damage.
