Jamshedpur, May 30: Sona Devi University has received official approval to establish a unit of the National Service Scheme (NSS) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

The sanction was granted by the Regional Directorate of NSS, Patna/Ranchi, on May 27.

The newly approved NSS unit will comprise 100 volunteers—50 male and 50 female students.

The NSS is a vital initiative aimed at the holistic development of students by engaging them in community service and enabling them to confront and address local and rural challenges firsthand.
This approval marks a significant milestone for the university. Students expressed great enthusiasm and joy, seeing this as a valuable opportunity to contribute meaningfully to society while fostering their personal growth and leadership skills.
