Jharkhand News: St. John’s High School Jamshedpur celebrates Foundation Day

Jamshedpur, Oct 1: St. John’s High School celebrated its Foundation Day with great enthusiasm, showcasing its legacy as an emerging educational hub. The event, ‘Future Ready Youngsters’ was marked by a series of cultural performances, competitions, and exhibitions that highlighted the school’s commitment to holistic education.

The celebrations began with a tribute to the school’s founder, G. Francis, who established the institution in 1958 with just three students in Sidhgora. She had a vision to uplift the lower and middle classes, and her relentless dedication led the school to shift to the Bengal Club premises in 1964.

After years of struggle, Francis realized her dream of building the school’s permanent campus in Jugsalai in 1999. The school’s co-founder, Victor Francis, also played a pivotal role in its development.

Exciting performances and creative competitions

The event kicked off with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the school’s Manager, G. Francis, and Principal Ashu Tiwari, paying homage to the founders. The day was filled with exciting performances as students participated in group dances, songs, and various creative competitions.

The students’ talents were on full display in competitions such as Button Craft, Painting/Sketching, Mehndi, Cake Decoration, and even Robot Making. A key highlight of the event was the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Model Display, where students presented their innovative ideas to promote sustainable living, showcasing their awareness of global environmental challenges.

Awards and recognition for participating students

Throughout the day, several students were recognized for their outstanding performances across a wide range of activities. The winners of the Group Dance competition were the Nandini Group (First Place) and the Suparna Group (Second Place). In the Group Song category, Aaliya Group secured the first position, followed by Sharmishtha Group.

The event concluded with an award ceremony, recognizing the participants and winners for their hard work and creativity. The school management, led by Principal Ashu Tiwari, expressed their pride in the students’ achievements and encouraged them to continue excelling both academically and socially.

The success of the event was made possible through the efforts of the entire faculty, including notable contributions from Dr. Kausar Tasmin and Tanmay Solanki. The students expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the support they received from their teachers and school staff in making the day a memorable one.
