Jamshedpur, May 24: Tata Steel has unveiled a new nature trail at Sidhgora, Jamshedpur reaffirming the company’s commitment to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
T.V. Narendran, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Steel, attended the event as chief guest.
11-acre nature trail
The 11-acre nature trail has transformed a barren area into a lush urban forest, providing a serene environment for the community.
The trail features a 1-km walking track with various attractions, including a gazebo, pond, aromatic and medicinal plantations, a zen garden, a yoga platform, and an amphitheatre with a green lawn.
Additionally, the project has restored a 200-meter stream cutting through the eco-park.

14,000 tree saplings and 5000 shrubs
The nature trail introduces a mini forest concept with dense tree plantations comprising over 60 native species, including 14,000 tree saplings and 5000 shrubs.
The project also retained and incorporated 5,500 existing native trees and shrubs, enhancing the area’s biodiversity.
The nature trail has transformed 7 acres of wasteland into a densely planted urban forest in its first phase and in phase 2 adjoining 4 acres of land will be transformed.
Area used to be a dumping ground
Previously, this area served as a dumping ground for slag, construction waste, and municipal solid waste.
Tata Steel’s commitment to sustainability and biodiversity conservation is integral to its Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
The park is expected to become a significant attraction for citizens, nature lovers, and fitness enthusiasts.
