Jamshedpur, June 5: Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) added two new enclosures for common leopard and striped hyena on the occasion of World Environment Day today.
While the leopard enclosure is 1200 square metres in size, that of the hyena is 100 square metres as per the Central Zoo Authority guidelines.
The enclosures were inaugurated by Ravi Ranjan, Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Government of Jharkhand and Chanakya Chaudhary Vice President of Corporate Services, Tata Steel.

The dignitaries also planted saplings of about 20 indigenous plant species near the new hyena enclosure.
On the occasion, “Art in nature”, a painting competition for students of schools and colleges was also organised around this year’s theme of World Environment Day, “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience.”
A total of 126 students from 11 schools took part in the competition.
Tata Steel Zoological Society is constantly improving and adding more attractions and facilities in the zoo for visitors such as world-class enclosures, signage, public conveniences etc to meet its prime goal.
