Jharkhand News: Three cyber fraudsters from Hazaribag arrested in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, March 28: Cyber police arrested three cyber fraudsters from Hazaribag who were operating from a rented house in the Barbadda police station area of Dhanbad. The trio was running an online scam, deceiving people under the pretense of providing escort services.

Cyber Scam Network Uncovered

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cyber), Sanjiv Kumar, revealed that the arrested individuals had set up an “Adult Platform” to lure victims and extort money online.

During interrogation, it was found that they had established a network in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and other cities, where their syndicate members would trap unsuspecting individuals into their fraudulent scheme.

The fraudsters would demand money from their victims and, if questioned, would resort to threats of defamation or legal action to prevent exposure.

Arrests and Seizures

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sikandar Yadav, Chandan Yadav, and Vivek Sahu, all residents of Hazaribag district.

The police seized nine mobile phones, 14 SIM cards, 13 ATM cards, and ₹50,000 in cash from their possession.

DSP Sanjiv Kumar stated that, following orders from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) HP Janardhanan, a cyber police team raided the house of Ranjit Mahto, where the suspects were caught red-handed and taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover further links in the cyber fraud network.
