Daltonganj, Dec 21: An unidentified truck this Saturday morning hit a roadside rail pole of electricity in Daltonganj causing massive disruption of electricity supply of 11KV.

The incident took place in the Redma locality of the town Daltonganj.

Stating this the executive engineer of electricity of the Daltonganj division Raj Kumar said, “The truck after hitting and damaging our rail pole of electricity fled the spot. No passerby has so far come forward to give any description of the truck.”

Raj Kumar said our men got on the job in full swing to restore the electricity supply. It was restored after almost a day-long strenuous work as the rail pole of electricity had to be fixed with concrete and slab.

The disruption of electricity caused inconveniences to the railway passengers who couldn’t use the lift to reach platform numbers 2 and 3 and back.

Sources reminded in winter and foggy conditions electricity poles across the roads become most vulnerable to such hit and run by the trucks.

There is one more reason. Long winter night driving fatigues the drivers.
