Dhanbad, May 18: Two women were buried alive and one was injured seriously during mica illegal mining in the Parsoni forest area under the Gawan police station, around 90 km away from Giridih district headquarters.
A police official said that the deceased was identified as Fulwa Devi (30), wife of Sanjay Ravidas, and Tuni Devi (40), wife of Sukhdeo Ravidas. Geeta Devi, wife of Manoj Ravidas was injured in the incident and is under treatment.
Incident occurred on Friday
The report reaching Giridih district headquarters said the incident occurred in the late afternoon of Friday. Half a dozen women were engaged in illegal mining after making holes in mines when all of a sudden roof of the mica mines caved in and all of them were trapped under debris.

Illegal mining syndicate
Illegal mining syndicate members rescued the trapped women at their level but two of them had died on the spot. They hide bodies in the village for disposal at night.
However, getting information about the incident in the evening, Giridih Superintendent of Police Dipak Kumar Sharma directed Gawan police station officer in-charge Mahesh Chandra to probe the facts.
Later, the Gawan police station team raided the Parsoni village and saw two bodies being taken on bikes for disposal. Having seen the police force, riders deserted their bikes with bodies and escaped.
