Jamshedpur, Sept 3: The court of additional district judge-II, Chaibasa, on Tuesday sentenced two lady Naxals to five years of rigorous imprisonment on finding them guilty in a murder case registered with the Manjhari thana in West Singhbhum in 2018.
Those convicted and sentenced were identified as Jubna Birua wife of Damkan Birua and Saraswati Bhumij wife of Durga Bhumij.

According to the prosecution, both the accused had attacked a man Sukhlal Birua with sticks in sequel to an old enmity, causing the victim to sustain grievous injuries.
The victim who was a resident of Nagarkatta village in the Manjhari thana area was admitted to a government health hub for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries.
As a result of the fatal injuries to Sukhlal Birua, the police registered a case against unknown assailants and eventually found that those who had inflicted injuries on the victim were Jubna Birua and Saraswati Bhumij.
The police subsequently arrested both the accused who were also residents of Nagarkatta and sent them to jail having charged relevant sections.
