Daltonganj, April 10: The reservation roster for the recruitment process of the 250 plus posts of Anusewaks in the Palamu Collectorate, now vacant following the Supreme Court quashing the recruitment for it, in February 2025, lies in limbo as there is no Divisional Commissioner of Palamu posted since February 1, 2025, when on January 31, 2025, the then Palamu Divisional Commissioner Bal Kishun Munda retired.

Since the Divisional Commissioner is responsible for clearing the reservation roster, the absence of an appointed official has left the process in limbo.
DC Shashi Ranjan told the Jharkhand Story correspondent, “We are waiting first for the posting of the Divisional Commissioner of Palamu and then to have the reservation roster cleared.”

Without the clearance of the reservation roster, there can’t be any update on this added, the DC.

Supreme Court Sets August 2025 Deadline for Fresh Recruitment
The Supreme Court in its order dated February 10, 2025, directed the Palamu administration to go for fresh advertisement and recruitment for the posts of the Anusewaks within 6 months from the date of the order of the Supreme Court which is February 10 and by that account, fresh recruitment is to be completed by August 9, 2025.
The Supreme Court has further directed to provide suitable age relaxation in order to accommodate all such aspirants in the supervening period and during the course of the pendency of the litigation who have so crossed the age limit.
Clarification Sought on Age Relaxation Scope
Additional Collector Kundan Kumar told this correspondent, “Under orders of the DC Shashi Ranjan we have sought clarification and directive, from the state law department on two counts.”
First is suitable age relaxation. This age relaxation is for the empanelled ones or those whose recruitments were quashed, have to be cleared.
There were thousands who sat for this Anusewak posts. A couple of hundred qualified. 250 plus were recruited.
“So the yard of the suitable age relaxation will be applicable to whom – the lot that tried for the recruitment, the lot that qualified and finally the lot of 250 who finally got recruited. Age relaxation will be applicable to whom is to be fixed properly,” Kundan Kumar explained.

Change in Minimum Qualification Adds Complexity
The Additional Collector further reminded that the 29th July 2010 advertisement for this had a minimum qualification of class 8 pass.
Now it’s class 10 pass. So all these intricacies are to be settled for a fair and transparent recruitment for the 250 plus Anusewaks within the stipulated time frame of 6 months.
Palamu administration is order bound by the Supreme Court to have all processes of recruitment to be over within 6 months of the stipulated time.
