Dhanbad, June 18: A woman died, while five other members of a family were seriously injured when their car hit a standing truck on inter-state GT Road near Bario More under Govindpur police station around 14 km away from district headquarters on Tuesday morning.
Officer in-charge of Govindpur police station Ramakant Prasad informed media persons that the incident occurred at around 6 am. All were members of a family and were going from Jamui (Bihar) to Raniganj (West Bengal).
The car was reportedly in full speed and hit the standing truck from behind. The woman died on the spot while three children and two male persons were seriously injured. Govindpur police got them admitted at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad.
Emergency in-charge of SNMMCH Prof (Dr) Dinesh Kumar Gindauria said that the condition of the injured was critical.
