THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, June 18: The Jammu Tawi-Tata express trains 18101 and 18102 are the trains of miseries. The railways seem to believe people travelling by it are sub humans and so there is no harm if there is no convenience for them.

The Jharkhand Story correspondent recently travelled by this train for the Up and the Dn journey.

Even the AC coaches of it be it AC3 or AC2 have water less toilets. The common answer is that water is filled at Kanpur so make sure you take care of your nature’s call!

Dirt and filth are the common feature of its coaches. It is not cleaned every 12 hours. It is true also that passengers litter the coaches with dirt and filth like their leftovers or torn wrappers of ready to eat food.

Bottles of drinking water is sold at Rs 20. Even the railway’s Neer is sold 20 rupees per bottle. It remains uncold too.

Unauthorised passengers keep coming and going in the AC coaches. There is none to stop them.

Curtains in the AC2 coaches are dirty and stink. Here too children and passengers just dry their hands after eating with the curtains.

There is a gang operating in the train which hijacks order for meals. Here it is done.

A blue uniform wearing man with IRCTC badge takes order for meals from the passengers noting down their berth number.

Here after an hour or so some one comes and serves the food ordered like veg or non veg.

The man who took the order for food first when comes to the passenger to serve food is told that it has been served already and bill paid.

The man gets the shock. He argues with the passengers and returns with food basket!

Used pillows are given. The bed roll in charge does not bother even to at least change the pillow cover. Pillow cover is not changed. Sweating soaked pillow is offered to the passengers. Towel is given very rarely.
