Jamshedpur, September 3: Tata Steel Foundation successfully organized a Center Cross Country event on September 2 at the LIC ground near the aerodrome in Sonari. The event featured races for under-20 boys and girls, drawing participation from multiple centers across Jamshedpur, including Tuila Dungri from Golmuri.
In the 3 km race for girls, several talented young athletes from various centers showcased their running skills. Among the participants were Chandni Kumari, Aanchal Mishra, Riya Gorai, Soni Kumari, Riya Gop, Rani Rajwad, Riya Kumari Sah, Anjali Kumari, Ritu Kumari, and Rani Kumari.
The boys’ 5 km race also saw fierce competition with participants like Abhishek Kumar, Sandeep Das, Akash Mahato, Ishmeet Singh, Ganesha Mukhi, Ram Baske, Manish Mahato, Mohit Karmakar, and Sawan Lohar.

The young athletes participated under the guidance of their coach, Birendra Kumar Mishra, and Tuila Dungri Tata Steel Foundation in-charge, Sanjay Singh.
Both the boys and girls representing the center are students of Guru Gobind Singh High School in Telco.
Notably, the school had also excelled in the cross-country race organized by Tata Motors on August 31 last year, where it clinched the title in the senior girls’ category, becoming the overall champion.
The information about the event and the students’ achievements was provided by Birendra Kumar Mishra, an international player and sports teacher at Guru Gobind Singh High School.
