While locals attributed the crash to the presence of a stray animal, Sandeep’s family has expressed concerns that he may have been struck by an unknown vehicle.
A resident of Bir Birsaghar Basti in Manifit, Sandeep was returning home after dropping his elder brother, Chandan Das, at Tata Motors for a night shift.

A trained ITI graduate, he was currently interning at a private firm and had the day off due to a scheduled closure.

The tragedy has brought fresh grief to the family, which had already suffered a similar loss eight years ago when Sandeep’s father, Ashok Das, died in a road accident.

The incident drew a large crowd at the hospital, with Telco police reaching the spot to manage the situation and begin an inquiry into the accident.
