Ranchi, Nov 13: By 3 pm in the first phase of the Assembly elections, Jharkhand registered a voter turnout of 59.28 per cent, as per Election Commission of India (ECI) data.
According to ECI data, till 3 pm, the Seraikella-Kharsawan constituency leads with a turnout of 66.38 per cent, followed by Lohardaga at 65.99 per cent and Simdega at 64.31 per cent.
As per ECI data, Ranchi, the state’s capital, registered the lowest voter turnout at 53.40 per cent, while Palamu recorded a turnout of 56.57 per cent till 3 pm.
Ramgarh recorded a voter turnout of 59.22 per cent, Khunti 63.35 per cent, Gumla 64.59 per cent, West Singhbhum 60.35 per cent, Latehar 62.81 per cent, Garhwa 61.06 per cent, East Singhbhum 58.72 per cent, and Hazaribagh 57.16 per cent till 3 pm.

By 1 pm, Jharkhand registered a voter turnout of 46.25 per cent whereas by 11 am Jharkhand registered a voter turnout of 29.31 per cent while a voter turnout of 13.04 per cent was recorded till 9 am in the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
663 candidates in fray in first phase
The voting for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections began today at 7 AM across 43 assembly constituencies. Voting is underway in a total of 43 constituencies, including five in Ranchi district.
The fate of 683 candidates in the electoral race will be decided by 13,710,717 voters, including 6,873,455 men, 6,836,959 women, and 303 third-gender voters. Of the 683 candidates, 609 are men, 73 are women, and one belongs to the third gender.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has deployed thousands of security personnel to ensure peaceful voting. Additionally, 18,000 GPS-equipped high-tech vehicles are being monitored, along with surveillance through webcasting.
