In the letter to the EC, Congress leader Ajoy Kumar alleged that Odisha governor Raghubar Das has been found attending election booth committee meetings in the Jamshedpur East constituency and distributing various materials to the public.

Through the letter, Kumar sought intervention of the Election Commission in this regard. The letter requests the ECI to take urgent steps toward the complaint.

The letter to the EC also refers to the recommendations of the Sarkaria Commission regarding the institution of a Governor and says, “It clearly states that any person to be appointed as a Governor should not be intimately connected with the local politics.”
