Godda, Nov 3: The election scene in Godda Assembly constituency has intensified with the allocation of election symbols to candidates, following the final withdrawal of nominations. Godda Returning Officer Baidyanath Oraon and Poreyahat Returning Officer Ritesh Jaiswal organized a press conference to update media representatives on the finalized list of candidates and their assigned symbols.

In Godda, two independent candidates, Rajnish Bharti and Md. Idrish, withdrew their nominations on the last day, leaving a total of 15 candidates in the contest. The remaining candidates were assigned their election symbols, as follows:

BJP candidate Amit Kumar Mandal received the Lotus symbol.

BSP candidate Shriram Turi was allocated the Elephant.

RJD candidate Sanjay Prasad Yadav will contest with the Lantern.

Jagruk Janata Party candidate Gyaneshwar Jha received the Air Conditioner.

Samata Party candidate Md. Noor Hasan will use the Battery Torch.

Jharkhand Democratic Revolutionary Front candidate Parimal Kumar Thakur was given the Scissors symbol.

Other symbols assigned include a Basket of Fruits for Balram Paswan of the People’s Party of India (Democratic), and a Kettle for Ranjeet Kumar of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram). Independent candidates received unique symbols to distinguish their campaigns, such as Almirah for Dilip Kumar Sah, Whistle for Niranjan Prasad Yadav, and Apple for Prakhar Kumar.

In Poreyahat, none of the candidates withdrew their nominations, leaving a total of 13 in the field. Poreyahat Returning Officer Ritesh Jaiswal conducted a press briefing, revealing the allocated symbols:

BJP candidate Devendra Nath Singh received the Lotus symbol.

Congress candidate Pradeep Yadav will contest with the Hand symbol.

BSP candidate Sanjay Yadav was assigned the Elephant.

Nyaya Dharm Sabha candidate Arun Kumar received the Diamond.

Additional symbols included Scissors for Praveen Kumar of the Jharkhand Democratic Revolutionary Front and Hammer and Sickle for Ramchandra Hemram of the Communist Party of India. Independents in Poreyahat received distinct symbols such as Bamboo Flute for Xavier Yadav, Bucket for Baboolal Tudu, and Binoculars for Mukesh Tudu.

The election symbols not only serve as identifiers for voters but also reflect the diverse political dynamics of the constituencies. Party candidates and independents are now strategizing on how to leverage these symbols in their campaigns to gain voter support.
