Jamshedpur, Feb 24: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West concluded the celebration of World Rotary Day with grandeur, showcasing its commitment to community service and social upliftment.

The event highlighted Rotary International’s history of 119 years of dedicated service to rural, tribal and underprivileged communities worldwide.
Renovation of bus stand toilet
As a tribute to Rotary’s inaugural project, the renovation and beautification of a dilapidated city bus stand toilet in Mango and Sakchi took centre stage.

Inaugurated jointly by Ravi Prakash, Deputy Commissioner of JNYC, and Rotarian Shiv, Governor of Rotary District 3250, the project aimed to restore a vital public facility and pay homage to Rotary’s roots.
The tireless efforts of Secretary Rotarian Ashok Jha and Director of Club Administration Rotarian Sanjeev Sehgal were instrumental in the successful completion of the renovation project, ensuring improved facilities for the convenience of passengers.

Annual inspection program
District Governor SP Bagaria and Head Woman Rotarian Ranjana Bagaria conducted an annual inspection program for Rotary Clubs in Zone-18, including Rotary Club Jamshedpur West, Rotary Club Jamshedpur Mid Town, Rotary Jamshedpur East, and Rotary Club Chaibasa.
The inspection included the inauguration of a solar tower, a children’s school, and a broom manufacturing workshop-cum-manufacturing unit at Chimti Pahadiya Tola village in Bodam block of Patamada.
The inspection continued with a visit to the Rotary Diksha Center in Sonari, where livelihood programs, a clothing bank, a women’s computer training centre and a school were highly appreciated.
Rotary Jamshedpur West’s commitment to community development was evident throughout the inspection.
The evening program held at a prestigious hotel in Adityapur commemorated World Rotary Day with enthusiasm.
Upcoming initiatives
President Neeta Agarwal and Secretary Ashok Jha presented the accomplishments of the year and outlined upcoming initiatives.
Noteworthy projects included relief efforts for Ghoramara, the sinking island of Sundarban, supported by Tata undertaking JC Penney Limited and other corporates.
A three-storey storm relief shelter centre was announced as part of ongoing efforts to address land erosion.
Governor Bagaria and Assistant Governor Anjani Nidhi praised Rotary Jamshedpur West for its outstanding contributions and expressed gratitude to its members for their dedicated cooperation.
The event showcased the club’s unwavering commitment to Rotary’s ideals and the pursuit of meaningful community impact.
