Dhanbad, June 7: Altogether 13 athletes have qualified to participate in the badminton event of the Paris (France) Paralympic Games scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 8.

Among 13-member qualifiers, six athletes are women.
Since in Japan, the Paralympic Indian contingent had set a record with winning medals, this time country has high hopes for this squad.

Badminton Association of Jharkhand
Chairman of the Indian Paralympic Badminton Association K Prabhakar Rao, who is also general secretary of the Badminton Association of Jharkhand on Friday issued the names of selected boys and girls (qualifiers). “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to selected players for their outstanding efforts and achievement for qualifying,” said Rao.

Prabhakar Rao of Jharkhand was the manager-cum-coach of the India squad in the Japan Paralympic Games in which Indian players won record medals.

Selected players are- Nitish Kumar ( for MS, XD, SL-3, SU 3 events), Manoj Sarkar ( men’s single), Manashi Girischandra Joshi (WS), Mandeep Kaur ( WS), Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj ( MS, XD, SL-3, SU -5), Sukant Kadam ( MS), Tarun ( MS), Palak Kohli (WS, XD, SL-3, SU -5), Manisha Ramadass ( WS), Thulasimathi Murugan (WS, XD, SL -3, SU -5), Krishna Nagar ( MS) Nithya Sre Sumathi Sivam (WS, XD, SH-6, SH-6), Shivaranjan Solaimalad ( MS).
