Dhanbad, April 13: International-rated players Vikash Kumar Sinha, Raja Bose, Dhananjay Mahto, Balkrishna Verma, Vedant Rajesh, Rohit Verma,  Archit Mittal, and Tejaswi  Kumar Singh, performing as per their reputation, registered easy wins in the end round of 35th Mahendra Memorial Dhanbad District Chess Championship being played at Chamber of Commerce Association Hall.

In the second round, top-seeded Vikash Kumar Singh (2004 rating) defeated Krish Patwari while playing with black pieces. Second-seeded Raja Bose (1646) beat Kumar Vaibhav while playing with white pieces. Third seeded Dhananjay Mahto (1640) also maintained his winning spree, defeating Kumar Satvik in the second round.

Balkrishna Verma (1608), who had to face an upset defeat in the first round, got full points in the second round, defeating Mukesh Kumar Saw. Rohit Verma (1594) also got full points, beating Mayank Kumar.  Another seeded player, Vedant Rajesh, also maintained a winning spree, defeating Mayank Nanohar Mahto.

Renowned player Archit Mittal (1575) beat Naman Kedia, while Tejaswi Kumar Singh (1473) beat Nagendra Choudhary to earn full points.

The organizer said 72 players, including eight international-rating players, are participating in the tournament. The final round will be played on Sunday evening.
